Bhanwarilal Sweets is Mhow & Mhow is Bhanwarilal Sweets

Mhow is a beautiful small and organized township, one hour drive away near Indore. Bhanwarilal Mithaiwala Sweets is a very popular and favourite brand in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh for Indian sweet delicacies and namkeens. Being so famous in MP, both the city Mhow as well as Bhanwarilal Mithaiwala compliment each other with a phrase – Bhanwarilal is Mhow and Mhow is Bhanwarilal.

Mhow is a mixed culture township predominantly military cantt with the society of army uniformed personnel. Bhanwarilal has three shops, 2 in old city and one on the state highway towards Indore on the rim of Mhow. Bhanwarilal outlets are owned by four Saini brothers who are by nature shy and very sweet-spoken. Spearhead of the company is Anil Saini who says his eldest brother Navin Saini is his source of energy and guide. Saini family is known for their generosity in the entire town, distributing sweets on all the major festivals and national days is their favourite habit. Sainis are well respected in political circles as well as in administration of Mhow City.

Recently, I (Firoz Naqvi, Editor, BNF Times) had a chance to visit their factory and shops at different locations in Mhow. Chota Bazar, where their oldest shop is located is known for the aromas of Bhanwrilal sweets. Huge factory is located on the outskirts of Mhow city, is a well maintained, hygienic and modern.  Bhanwrilal also has a top class restaurant above sweets shop.

Amongst his four brothers, Anil Saini looks after expansion of business and factory. A well-connected person, Anil is recognized by the entire Mhow by his name. Anil is equally popular among mithai manufacturers in this part of the country. Bhanwarilal Group has big expansion plans for exports and adding up automatic lines to their production capacity.  Presently they have modern factory will all types of required machines and man power. Anil Saini says, “We believe in making good quality and hygienic sweets. If a certain sweet that has to be prepared manually, I will use manual labour otherwise my motto is to make most hygienic sweets hands-free in the entire region”.

When asked about the success formula, Anil said his grandfather migrated from Rajasthan to Indore a couple of decades back when he lost much of his savings due to a natural calamity. He instructed his family members that only way of success is good products with assurance of best quality. Ever since our family-head said that, we have never compromised on quality.
