BittooTikkiWala (BTW), a popular north Indian food chain is now going to serve the BJP at its new headquarters in Delhi. A big name in the food industry, BTW has secured the position of caterer at the BJP’s new headquarters at 6A, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg.
According to N. Kushwaha, CEO of the company, they will take care of the ministers, the rule-makers, who in turn will take care of the whole country.
BTW runs a catering business, a chain of restaurants and produces FMCG goods, had modest beginning. A tutor from Ayodhya, S.R. Yadav, also known as Bittoo, began by selling north Indian street food like chaats, bhalla, and tikkis on a redi (push cart) around Delhi. In 1991, he set up a small shop in Rani Bagh Market.
Today, the company runs franchisee restaurants in 15 locations across Delhi, and has catered for big institutions like the Election Commission and the Delhi Police.
Inside the BJP headquarters, the catering company has planned to sell food at a subsidised rate. BTW’s canteen, which has been operational for four days at the HQ, will now serve a range of foods which will include BTW favourites and a list of items that the high command has especially asked for. The menu will include low-fat healthy versions of dishes like poha, dhokla, rajma chawal, and thalis. This is in line with party president Amit Shah’s advice to his colleagues to take good care of their health.
