FIFI and Turkey hosts the largest F&B delegation in India

From the land of Turks, Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and Forum of Indian Food Importers (FIFI), have allied collectively to host first ever organized Turkish food and beverage delegation in India.

The visiting Turkish delegation (ICC) along with FIFI participated at their maiden event of Food India by SIAL Show on September 16-18, 2018 in New Delhi.

The Turkish delegation, comprising of 10 companies represented their country produce of Turkish teas, dry fruits, nuts, confectionary items, and convenience food. FIFI stood as an associate with the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce to lend a hand run the logistics of the business delegation and coordinated with nearly 750 B2B meetings throughout their stay.  The delegates also visited macro as well as micro retailers from organized and unorganized sector to understand the Indian market in Capital.

With an objective to bring international products to end consumers, FIFI being an apex body, represents over 5000 importers and retailers from India and works closely with various governments and co-ordinates with Government of India agencies to bring  maximum benefits to member importers.

Founder Director, Mr. Pankaj Singhal of Forum of Indian Food Importers said, “It is a mark of respect and pride for us to associate with international like-minded associations like Istanbul Chamber of Commerce. It is motivating to see the changing food dynamics and developing interest in Indian F&B economics.  Such delegations are citation enough that India is making a mark in the global food map and numerous groups are willing to expand here.”  He also noted that “This event won’t have been a success without the able support of our fellow FIFI members, who help us stand tall and strong.”

FIFI team extended special thanks to His Excellency Sakir Ozkan Torunlar – Turkish Ambassador to India, Mr Ahmet Ozer-Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and Mr Ali Ozdin- Commercial Officer Turkish Embassy, India, for their presence and support to the event.
