The World Food India event organised by the Ministry of Food Processing has lead the food processing sector of India to end the year 2017 on a high note. This event saw signing of Memoranda of Understanding with global and domestic investment intent to the tune of more than US$ 13 billion.
The event was given a boost by Prime Minister Narendra Modi who inaugurated the conference in New Delhi. It was the conclusion of efforts by the ministry under Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal who visited France and Germany to showcase India as a favourable destination. Nearly 800 global investors from 61 countries and 27 states participated in World Food India, 2017.
At the same time, during the year the ministry inaugurated setting up of nine mega food parks in the country. The food sector is seeing the highest peak at the moment and 2017 takes to be the starting point for a new developed Industry.
