For the first time ever, KFC is offering chicken nuggets, and they are far superior to McNuggets in appearance.
KFC recently revealed that it was streamlining its menu and deleting one particularly popular item: popcorn chicken. Yet given that the restaurant is currently offering fresh chicken nuggets, it would appear that whenever Colonel Sanders closes one door, he opens another.
In 2022, KFC started testing their Kentucky Fried Chicken Nuggets, and they were a huge hit right away. The new nuggets are prepared using KFC’s own combination of 11 herbs and spices, will thus be available on the menu soon.
The new Kentucky Fried Chicken Nuggets will come in packages of 5, 8, 12, and 36 pieces. They may also be ordered as part of a combination meal that includes KFC’s fries, a scone, and a medium drink.
According to Nick Chavez, Chief Marketing Officer of KFC U.S., in the company’s news release, other fast food chicken nuggets are “mediocre” and “bland,” and these chicken nuggets are “simply the chicken nugget America deserves and worth the wait.”
Kentucky Fried Chicken Nuggets
Just by looking at them, it’s obvious that KFC’s new nuggets vary from some of the other chicken nuggets on the market in a few key ways. The nuggets from KFC resemble Chick-fil-nuggets A’s in size and feature the same crispy, craggy breading that is synonymous with KFC’s iconic fried chicken. The Kentucky Fried Chicken Nuggets are much smaller than the tenders but slightly larger than the defunct popcorn chicken.
The Mac & Cheese Bowls, which were previously offered, will be available alongside KFC’s chicken nuggets. For a limited time, starting on April 3, you can get a Mac & Cheese Bowl for $5 that includes the new nuggets, Cheddar mac and cheese, and a three-cheese mixture. Also, a hot version of the Mac & Cheese Bowls will be offered, reviving the Nashville Hot sauce that was formerly used to top the bowl.
Better news for fans of popcorn chicken—and more especially, fans of Famous Bowl—comes with the inclusion of the nuggets. The popcorn chicken was formerly a staple of the Famous Bowl; thus, KFC will now substitute the nuggets for the chicken instead of doing away with the cherished bowl.
We’re happy to see that KFC still offers bite-sized chicken, and we’re interested to see how this menu item fared in the ongoing battle of the fast-food nuggets.
