Global beverage giant Coca-Cola has officially become part of the Open Network of Digital Commerce (ONDC) network. The announcement, made in a press release on Friday, highlighted that the integration was facilitated through SellerApp, a platform set to provide order management and inventory tracking while aiding sellers in identifying trends and patterns within the beverage market segment.
Coca-Cola aims to leverage this integration to tap into a vast consumer base in the digital commerce landscape while ensuring the global availability of its products. The move aligns with the company’s commitment to staying at the forefront of the evolving e-commerce industry.
Ambuj Deo Singh, Vice President, Digital Acceleration Office at Coca-Cola India and Southwest Asia, expressed enthusiasm about being part of the initiative. “We are happy to be a part of this journey where the focus is on transforming the online marketplace by making it more inclusive and consumer-centric. We look forward to a continued association with ONDC,” he stated.
As part of its digital expansion strategy, Coca-Cola has also introduced its own marketplace on the ONDC platform, named ‘Coke Shop.’ This marketplace will enable retailers to collaborate with other channels and access e-commerce platforms, catering to a wider audience. In partnership with nStore Technologies, Coca-Cola aims to support retailers in charting their digital growth strategy.
T. Koshy, MD and CEO of ONDC, emphasized the goal of empowering local retailers, enhancing digital visibility, and boosting business. “We look forward to potential participation from all businesses and buyers in this network,” he added.
Coca-Cola’s bottling partner, Moon Beverages, will serve as the ‘Network Participant’ for Coca-Cola’s ONDC, ensuring customers have access to the company’s extensive portfolio in India. Currently, Coca-Cola boasts a network of nearly 4 million retail outlets and operates in over 200 countries.
