South Canara will launch ice cream, coconut milkshakes, and sprout desserts

South Canara Coconut Farmers’ Producer Company Ltd. (FPC), based in Puttur, is gearing up to introduce three innovative coconut-based products under the brand name ‘Shreephal’. These products include tender coconut milkshakes, tender coconut ice cream, and sprout desserts, each promising a unique and flavourful experience.

Speaking at a press conference in Mangaluru, President S.K. Kusumadhar unveiled the company’s plans to launch these value-added products. The tender coconut milkshake will boast a blend of tender coconut water, pulp, milk, and sugar, free from any artificial additives. Similarly, the tender coconut ice cream will feature coconut pulp, milk, and sugar, offering a delightful tropical indulgence. The sprout dessert, on the other hand, will combine malai, milk, sugar, and arrowroot for a creamy and satisfying treat.

According to Mr. Kusumadhar, these products are in the final stages of preparation and will soon hit the market shelves. Additionally, the company is embarking on an ambitious venture to establish a centralized manufacturing unit spanning 20 acres in Dakshina Kannada. This facility aims to streamline production processes for all value-added coconut products, providing direct employment opportunities to around 300 individuals and indirect employment to approximately 600.

To support its expansion plans, South Canara Coconut FPC is set to issue shares to the public, allowing both farmers and non-farmers to invest in the company’s growth. Each share will have a face value of ₹1,000, with a minimum purchase of five shares and a maximum of 200 shares. The company aims to raise ₹50 crore in the initial phase through this share offering.

Interested individuals can purchase shares either by visiting one of the company’s 11 branches or digitally through their official website, www.coconutfarmers.in.

In addition to these developments, the company also announced plans to launch an e-commerce app to facilitate the marketing of its various coconut-based products. Among the upcoming offerings are sugar, jaggery, honey, oil soap, wax, candles, tooth powder, and Kalparasa, a health drink. With these initiatives, South Canara Coconut FPC aims to revolutionize the coconut industry while promoting sustainable and value-added agricultural practices.
