Hamdard Laboratories India (Food Division), renowned for its health and wellness products and beverages, has entered into a strategic partnership with SIG, a leader in aseptic carton packaging and filling solutions. This collaboration aims to address the evolving consumer demands for affordability, appropriate sizing, long-lasting quality, and convenience.
Hamdard has chosen the SIG XSlim 24 aseptic filling machine for its Aurangabad manufacturing plant in Maharashtra. This advanced machine boasts the capability to fill 24,000 SIG XSlimBloc carton packs per hour and offers the flexibility to handle nine different volume sizes, ranging from 80ml to 200ml, with changeover times of less than 15 minutes. This adaptability will enable Hamdard to efficiently adjust product sizes in response to consumer preferences.
Vandana Tandan, Head of Markets India and Bangladesh at SIG, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “Hamdard is one of the most celebrated beverage brands in India, and SIG is excited to partner with them. This collaboration will benefit both SIG and Hamdard, enhancing their presence across India. SIG’s advanced technology will allow Hamdard to respond to changing market needs while maintaining the highest quality standards. We look forward to a long and promising partnership.”
Hamdard plans to utilize SIG’s technology for packaging new varieties of its iconic RoohAfza beverage, including milkshakes, lassi, juices, glucose drinks, and coconut water, all available in SIG XSlimBloc carton packs with a drinking straw. Additionally, Hamdard will explore co-packing opportunities with other industry players.
Hamid Ahmed, CEO of Hamdard Laboratories India—Food Division, commented on the collaboration: “Partnering with SIG will help us broaden our packaging options and quickly adapt to changing market and consumer preferences. The unmatched speed and flexibility of SIG’s filling solution will enhance our production efficiency and reduce costs.”
SIG’s state-of-the-art technology will support Hamdard in reaching diverse consumer groups across India and internationally, aiming to expand its market reach and cover a wide range of price points.
