The Himachal Pradesh government has received approval from the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) for 127 projects worth ₹903.21 crore under the 2024-25 fiscal plan. These projects focus on MLA-priority schemes and rural infrastructure development across the state.
A significant portion of the funding, ₹412.75 crore, has been allocated to 50 MLA-priority schemes under the Public Works Department, while ₹179.07 crore will support 23 priority projects under the Jal Shakti Vibhag. Key initiatives include the establishment of a 1.5 LLPD capacity dairy processing plant in Kangra’s Dagwar and the deployment of 96 electric bus charging stations to boost sustainable transportation.
Additionally, ₹1,087.77 crore has been allocated under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) for 2024-25, reflecting a 5.28% increase from the previous year. The government aims to enhance employment opportunities in rural areas while strengthening infrastructure.
The state is also focusing on boosting tourism, particularly in religious and tea tourism, by exploring successful models from other states. Plans are in place to combat the drug menace through stricter enforcement measures.
