Markem-Imaje Unveils High-Performance Black Ink Tailored for Beverage Industry Needs

Markem-Imaje has launched MB2253, a new black MEK ink designed specifically for the beverage industry. Engineered to meet stringent regulatory standards, the ink ensures both consumer safety and production compliance, making it a reliable solution for beverage manufacturers.

MB2253 is highly versatile, offering exceptional performance across various beverage packaging materials such as plastic, metal, glass, and returnable glass bottles. It delivers durable, high-adhesion codes that withstand harsh conditions, including icy condensation and water immersion—challenges typical in beverage environments.

A key feature of the new ink is its unique balance of water resistance and alkali solubility, which makes it especially suitable for returnable bottle systems. The ink complies with indirect food contact regulations, providing added assurance to manufacturers and end users alike.

Manufactured in a Grade A BRC Global Standard-certified facility, MB2253 adheres to the EuPIA Guideline for non-food contact surfaces in food packaging, underlining Markem-Imaje’s commitment to quality and safety in industrial printing solutions.
