UP’s Iconic Dussehri Mango Makes Global Debut with First Export to Dubai

In a landmark development for Uttar Pradesh’s agricultural exports, the state has airlifted its first international consignment of Dussehri mangoes to Dubai, opening new doors for its famed mango growers.

The shipment, weighing 1,200 kilograms across 400 boxes (each 3 kg), was dispatched from Lucknow’s Mango Pack House to Dubai-based importer Vergro Trading LLC. Valued at USD 2,992, the consignment marks a significant breakthrough in UP’s efforts to position its premium mangoes globally.

The export was officially flagged off by Dinesh Pratap Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Horticulture, Agricultural Marketing, and Agricultural Foreign Trade, who called it a “historic milestone” for the state’s mango farmers.

The initiative was made possible through the Indo-German Agricultural Market Development (AMD) Project, which provided export-readiness training to three Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) from the Lucknow region. Among these, Irada Farmers Producer Company Limited and Malihabad Farmer Producer Company Limited secured direct export orders to Dubai, marking their first independent foray into global trade.

“Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, mango exports from Uttar Pradesh are steadily gaining momentum,” said Singh. “The government is committed to supporting farmers in every aspect—production, packaging, or meeting international export standards.”

The move is expected to significantly boost the visibility and demand for Uttar Pradesh’s mangoes in international markets, setting the stage for more exports in the coming seasons.
