Country Delight has launched a high-protein cow milk product containing 30 grams of protein per 450 ml pack—doubles the protein of regular milk—amid growing demand for functional nutrition in India. The product, developed using natural filtration technology, meets 50% of daily protein needs without the need for added powders or synthetic processing.
With 73% of Indians—and over 90% of vegetarians—falling short on daily protein intake, the dairy sector is shifting towards protein-enriched staples. Country Delight plans to expand into high-protein paneer and curd next.
Other dairy players such as Amul, Mother Dairy, and Parag Milk Foods are also expanding their high-protein portfolios, introducing enhanced milk, yogurt, and whey-based drinks. The trend signals a wider movement toward value-added, clean-label nutrition that blends into everyday diets, with urban and tier-2 markets showing strong growth potential for protein-rich dairy offerings.
