Russian Caucasus Mountain Water to Debut in India as Aqua Holding Ships First Consignment

Premium natural mineral water sourced from Russia’s Caucasus Mountains is set to enter the Indian market by the end of this year. Aqua Holding Company, one of Russia’s largest bottlers and exporters of Caucasian mineral water brands to over 20 countries, has dispatched its first shipment to India, marking its entry into one of the world’s fastest-growing bottled water markets.

The company has launched a new brand — Gorji Vita — crafted specifically for Indian consumers. “The Aqua Holding Company has shipped the first batch of its drinking water to India. Gorji Vita is a natural, still mountain water tailored to local taste preferences,” the company’s press service told Russian news agency TASS. The shipment is being transported via the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk.

Aqua Holding said “tens of thousands of bottles of eco-pure water” will be available in India before year-end.

India’s bottled water market, valued at USD 8.28 billion in 2025, is projected to reach USD 13.65 billion by 2030 at a CAGR of 10.51%, according to Mordor Intelligence. Within this, demand for premium natural spring and mineral water is rising sharply, fueled by higher health awareness, urbanisation, and rising disposable incomes.

The segment has seen a flurry of premium launches recently. Bisleri expanded its Vedica Himalayan Spring Water range, while Diageo India introduced Godawan Estuary Premium Water in December 2024. Marvelle Healthcare launched Rhythm Water in May 2024, offering naturally filtered Himalayan mineral water, and Bisleri added Vedica Himalayan Sparkling Water to its portfolio in October 2023.

With Russia now joining the list of global entrants, the premium bottled water category in India continues its rapid expansion, driven by consumers seeking high-quality, naturally sourced hydration options.
