Godrej Agrovet to Invest Rs. 300 Crore in Integrated Oil Palm Complex in Telangana

Godrej Agrovet will invest Rs. 300 crore to establish an integrated oil palm complex in Telangana, a project expected to generate livelihood opportunities for more than 700 people, according to the state government.

The announcement follows a meeting between Godrej Industries Group President (Corporate Affairs) Rakesh Swami, senior company executives and Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, during which the company presented its plans to expand oil palm cultivation in the state.

As part of the project, the Telangana government has allotted 113.5 acres of land in Khammam district for the development of an integrated oil palm processing unit, nursery, research and development (R&D) centre, and seed garden.

The company has also sought an additional 35–40 acres of land for expanding its seed garden, along with road infrastructure improvements to support the processing facility.

Responding to the request, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) to undertake the required road expansion to facilitate the project.

The proposed investment is expected to strengthen Telangana’s oil palm ecosystem by enhancing processing capacity, supporting research activities and creating employment opportunities in the region.
