abcoffee and Cityflo Launch India’s First On-the-Go Coffee Delivery Service on City Buses

Coffee chain abcoffee has partnered with mobility firm Cityflo to launch a pilot program that allows commuters to pre-order and receive beverages directly on select Mumbai bus routes. The initiative—touted as India’s first food and beverage service for on-land public transit—aims to bring café-style comfort to daily commutes.

The service lets Cityflo passengers place beverage orders in advance through abcoffee’s digital platform, with delivery timed to their journey. The month-long pilot will initially run on limited routes before a wider rollout across the city.

“Prebooked food and beverages are standard in other transit modes like flights and trains; city buses shouldn’t be any different,” said Rushabh Shah, Chief Business Officer at Cityflo. “We’re bringing the convenience and comfort of a café into the bus.”

The collaboration marks a growing convergence between mobility and lifestyle services, reflecting how convenience has become central to consumer expectations. Over the years, quick-service chains have normalized drive-thru dining, while rail travelers can now pre-order meals via aggregator apps. The abcoffee–Cityflo initiative extends that same idea to urban road travel, creating a new channel for on-the-go consumption.

abcoffee, known for its specialty takeaway brews, will handle the ordering and delivery operations. Its founder and CEO, Abhijeet Anand, said the partnership is designed to “turn routine travel into a small moment of comfort.”

For abcoffee, the model presents a new growth avenue beyond its physical outlets, while for Cityflo, it aligns with its long-term vision to evolve into a comprehensive “mobility ecosystem” where comfort, reliability, and convenience are integral to the commuting experience.

If successful, the pilot could open up new business models for urban transport, combining transit with retail convenience and signaling the next phase in India’s on-the-go food and beverage landscape.
