Adani Wilmar Ltd, a prominent edible oil and food product manufacturer, has inaugurated its ₹1,300 crore integrated food processing plant in Sonepat, Haryana. Spanning 85 acres, the facility is among the largest food complexes in India and is funded by proceeds from the company’s initial public offering (IPO).
The state-of-the-art plant boasts an annual production capacity of 6.27 lakh tonnes. It will produce 4.5 lakh tonnes of food products, including rice, wheat flour, suji, rawa, and maida, alongside 2 lakh tonnes of edible oils such as mustard oil, rice bran oil, and cottonseed oil. Additionally, the facility will produce Mustard DOC and Ricebran DOC for animal feed.
This initiative is set to generate 2,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities in Haryana, bolstering the local economy.
Adani Wilmar, known for its Fortune brand of cooking oils and food products, made headlines recently when its parent company, Adani Group, announced its exit from the venture. Despite the ownership transition, the launch of this expansive facility underscores Adani Wilmar’s commitment to scaling its operations and addressing India’s growing demand for high-quality food products.
