Badshah Enters QSR Arena with Badboy Pizza, Targets ₹150 Cr ARR in 3 Years

Indian rapper and entrepreneur Badshah has made a bold entry into the country’s booming quick service restaurant (QSR) market with the launch of Badboy Pizza — a mass-premium pizza brand launched in partnership with Ghost Kitchens India. The brand aims to tap into India’s growing appetite for fusion food and is targeting ₹150 crore in annual recurring revenue (ARR) within three years.

The brand opened its flagship boutique outlet in Mumbai’s Andheri, following a dramatic pre-launch campaign that went viral online — featuring Badshah in a faux altercation culminating in a pizza slap, driving home the tagline: “Pizza that slaps.”

Badboy Pizza plans to expand to 50 outlets across India’s top five metros by 2028, leveraging a hybrid model of dine-in locations and cloud kitchens. The menu boasts 50 curated offerings that fuse international inspiration with Indian flavours, with an average price point of ₹400 per person.

“Drawing on my travels and culinary experiences, I wanted to create something that blends international quality with desi soul,” said Badshah. “Partnering with Karan Tanna and Ghost Kitchens gives us the perfect platform to deliver a world-class yet accessible pizza experience.”

Ghost Kitchens India, led by founder and CEO Karan Tanna, handles over 1.2 lakh orders per month and runs 12 food brands, including Starboy Pizza and New York Waffles. The company recently raised $5 million in Series A funding from GVFL and NB Ventures and is currently expanding through strategic acquisitions.

“Badboy Pizza is not just another pizza brand. With Badshah’s cultural influence and our operational strength, we are building the QSR brand of the future,” said Tanna.

India’s QSR industry, currently valued at $85.19 billion, is expected to grow to $139.75 billion by 2030, driven by rising disposable incomes, urbanization, and evolving food habits. The pizza segment alone is forecasted to grow from $5.3 billion in 2024 to $11.8 billion by 2033, making it a prime battleground for both domestic and international players.

Badboy Pizza’s eclectic menu ranges from global favourites like Smoky BBQ (American), Dynamite Schezwan (Indo-Chinese), Korean Spice, Hollywood Salmon, and Chimichurri Messidona, to desi delights like Tandoori Tikka, Aloo Dumdaaar, and Chicken Keemalal. Vegetarian options include Burrata Hot Honey, Cheesy 6, and Truffle Cacio-E-Pepe. The brand is also tapping into pop culture with themed creations like the fiery Pushpa Pizza, inspired by the hit movie.

Badshah’s portfolio already includes fashion label Badfit, nightclub Dragonfly, fine-dining restaurants Sago, Sidera, and Seville, as well as media ventures and investments in startups like Droom, Crickpe, and Ultimate Kho Kho. With Badboy Pizza, he is now betting big on becoming a significant force in India’s youth-driven food landscape.

As competition heats up in the pizza space — with established players like Domino’s, Pizza Hut, La Pino’z, and new entrants like Little Caesars — Badshah’s Badboy Pizza aims to slice through the clutter with bold branding, regional innovation, and cultural swagger.
