FMCG company BL Agro Group has announced an ambitious goal to achieve a turnover of ₹20,000 crore by 2030, focusing on sustainability, innovation, and community upliftment. The company closed the last fiscal year with revenues of ₹6,000 crore and is targeting ₹7,500 crore for the current fiscal.
Ashish Khandelwal, Managing Director of BL Agro, shared the company’s growth strategy, which includes expanding into Jharkhand and launching a millet-based venture aimed at uplifting tribal communities. Under its BL Kamadhenu brand, the company plans to create a model dairy farm and IVF lab housing 5,000 indigenous cows, along with an integrated milk processing unit that will handle 300,000 litres of milk daily and a cattle feed manufacturing unit producing 7,500 metric tonnes of balanced feed each month.
“We view ‘Vision 2030’ not just as a growth plan but as a commitment to drive meaningful change across the agri-food chain,” Khandelwal stated. He emphasized the company’s investments in innovative solutions, such as dairy technology, sustainable fodder production, and analytics driven by space technology, to enhance efficiency and sustainability for farmers and consumers.
BL Agro plans to invest ₹1,000 crore to expand the BL Kamadhenu brand, allocating funds for developing a research center, setting up a compressed biogas plant, purchasing cows, and importing embryos to improve cattle breeds. The tentative investment for the next two years may increase by an additional ₹100-200 crore.
Additionally, the company is setting up a milk processing plant with a capacity of 300,000 liters per day, expected to be operational by 2028. This facility will produce cheese and protein shakes under the premium Nourish brand, with yoghurt planned for future launch.
With plans to maximize manufacturing capacity by 2030, BL Agro will also introduce a new manufacturing unit for Nourish in 2025, investing ₹500 crore to quadruple its production capacity. Currently, the company produces 4,000 tonnes of food products under Nourish and 3,000 metric tonnes of oil under Bail Kolhu, offering 80 and 7 SKUs, respectively.
Following the establishment of the new manufacturing unit, BL Agro plans to introduce 7-8 new SKUs in categories such as pickles, honey, and pasta.
