Dr Reddy’s Laboratories has invested ₹734 crore in its newly formed joint venture (JV) with Nestlé India, named Dr Reddy’s and Nestlé Health Science. Dr Reddy’s holds a 51% stake in the Hyderabad-based JV, while Nestlé India owns 49%. The JV has a paid-up share capital of approximately ₹1,440 crore.
Nestlé India has contributed ₹705.6 crore to the JV. This investment will be used for acquiring nutritional health solutions and other strategic resources. The joint venture aims to enhance capabilities in the health and wellness sector, with a focus on expanding its nutraceutical portfolio. Key areas of interest include metabolic health, hospital nutrition, general wellness, women’s health, and child nutrition, targeting markets in India and Nepal.
The JV will also license prominent brands such as Nature’s Bounty, Osteo Bi-Flex, Ester-C, Resource High Protein, and Resource Diabetic. Additionally, the venture has made an upfront payment of ₹821.7 crore for the licensing of Rebalanz, Celevida, Becozinc, and other products in the nutrition and OTC segments.
