In a major development, drink technology India has been rebranded as drinktec India, aligning it with the world-renowned drinktec Munich, the premier trade fair for the beverage and liquid food industries. Organized by YONTEX, the brand owner of drinktec, this rebranding marks a significant recognition of India’s growing importance in the global beverage sector.
Originally launched in 2007 as a Mumbai-based congress focusing on PET technology, the fair has evolved to become a major gathering for India’s beverage and liquid food manufacturers. Starting with 42 exhibitors, the event has grown exponentially; this year, it is set to host 178 exhibitors over an expansive 6,000 square meters, showcasing innovations in beverage machinery, packaging, and production to an anticipated audience of 11,000 attendees from across India and neighbouring regions.
As the flagship trade fair for the SAARC region, drinktec India is now positioned as a gateway to the latest technologies and standards in beverage production. The rebranding aims to broaden its reach across markets in the region, offering a platform where global and regional manufacturers can connect, share innovations, and elevate production standards. This move not only enhances India’s role in the industry but also facilitates the adoption of international best practices locally, helping Indian companies meet the demands of an evolving, globalized market.
According to Beatrix Fraese, Deputy Managing Director of VDMA’s Food Processing and Packaging Machinery Association, “The rebranding underscores the strong demand for beverage machinery in India. German manufacturers are investing locally to better serve this promising market, and we’re thrilled to continue supporting drinktec’s expansion in the region.”
Markus Kosak, Executive Director of drinktec Cluster at YONTEX, highlighted the strategic milestone, stating, “drinktec India is the most profound event for the beverage and liquid food industry in the Indian subcontinent. We thank our partners at VDMA for their steadfast support in building this platform and driving its growth.”
Bhupinder Singh, CEO of Messe München India, celebrated the rebranding, noting, “drink technology India’s evolution into drinktec India reaffirms India’s pivotal role in the global beverage sector. Our partnership with PackMach bolsters this comprehensive platform, bringing advanced technology and expertise to the Indian market.”
With its expanded international focus, drinktec India promises to be a driving force for innovation, bridging global advancements with the dynamic needs of the Indian and SAARC beverage industry.
