Euromilk Adopts Aseptic Stick Packs for Its ‘Kukkonia’ UHT Milk Range

Bratislava, Slovakia – Slovakian dairy producer Euromilk has introduced an innovative packaging format for its UHT milk under the ‘Kukkonia’ brand, utilizing aseptic stick packs filled on high-performance machinery from IMA Hassia, a global leader in packaging technology.

With consumer convenience and sustainability in mind, Euromilk has transitioned to aseptic stick packs, which are rapidly gaining popularity in the dairy industry. These stick packs offer numerous advantages over traditional UHT milk portion cups — reducing packaging material usage by up to 50%, lowering transport weight, and decreasing carbon footprint. The compact format also allows for 50% more packs within the same packaging volume, streamlining logistics and reducing environmental impact.

The aseptic machine operates on 12 lanes in 2-shift production, delivering an impressive 36,000 stick packs per hour. It ensures complete product safety and hygiene through advanced packaging sterilization: flat foil is sterilized on all sides, notched, formed into duplex stick packs, sealed on three sides, and filled — all under sterile conditions.

Euromilk’s UHT range includes whole milk, semi-skimmed milk, lactose-free milk, and coffee cream, all sold under the ‘Minimilk’ label. The company recently added a plant-based oat drink, branded as ‘Minioat’, to tap into the growing demand for dairy alternatives. All products are currently offered in 10 ml stick packs, with a 7 ml format planned for future expansion. To broaden its global reach, Euromilk is also in the process of obtaining Halal certification.

The compact and hygienic packaging format is ideal for use in hotels, offices, cafés, fast-food chains, public transport, events, and conferences — especially in locations where refrigeration is unavailable. The stick packs can also be attractively presented in decorative boxes for retail.

Tibor Balogh, CEO of Euromilk, expressed confidence in the move:

“We are very satisfied with the consumer-friendly packaging solution this machine offers for our UHT milk. Thanks to the new packaging, milk and cream coming from local farms find a way to even more people, and we can fulfil our mission to ensure that what is good remains good.”

Euromilk’s adoption of stick pack technology reflects its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and consumer convenience, while continuing to deliver high-quality dairy products sourced from local farms.
