Family Values
Home is the place where family values are taught that take root in childhood. My family values have taught me moral values and ethics, to be honest in life, and all these characteristics are handed down as legacies from our precedents. We value these traits because we have seen our previous generation how they have worked hard to be where we are today. You tend to follow the same footprints. So what I have gained is the experience as a heritage and I have learned to follow the discipline laid down by them and to be honest in every commitment.
The Role of Family Members
As far as involvement of family members is concerned, in this, we are only two members, me and my father. We have different streams because when I joined the business 20 years ago, my father gave me total freedom to run the business and make my own decisions. He made arrangements for a new setup for me with a new branch. Though he has given me free hand in business, I always seek his guidance on all major issues. With this, I have learned to move ahead on my own and this has given me individuality. And my father’s experience is always there to lead me and guide me sailing successfully under his banner.
The Changing Perception of Young Generation
The time is changing and in my personal opinion which many don’t agree with me but this is my foresight. According to me, this is the last generation of traditional namkeen lovers. Within the next 20-25 years, the namkeen business will become almost obsolete as the younger generation is bringing in a lot of changes and are introducing different outlooks. The new generation travels vast lands and gets introduced to variants of foodstuff. Their inclination towards traditional sweets is on the decline. We already find that pattern of namkeen has changed and has taken a new shape, it has been modernized.
The exports of traditional namkeens to various countries also has resulted in decreased we are exporting everywhere so traditional is sloping down and modern snacks and sweets are flourishing. The youth is the major pocket of namkeens and snacks. With changing times their preference is also changing as they now opt for cheese balsa and choco bites, Nachos, savoury bars. So the traditional namkeen will be presented in a new form and this is also necessary as we cannot carry on old patterns all the time, we have to do some innovation we have to bring about novelty in products and keep evolving newness in the products. And this is the time when traditional namkeen has to be renovated.
The Role of Modern Technologies & Automation
We are completely automated at our facilities and automation in production is at its max. Whatever automation that is necessary at our facilities like-wise is adopted by us. With mass production, automation has become very important because not only it is convenient but also because it is hygienic. Now all top businesses are following the best standards available at the international level for their products and to follow these standards it becomes mandatory to observe the requirements and to set hygiene standards very high. Automation is also very effective to have the best quality of products, consistent tastes, hygiene packing, and to cut the labour cost.
Lockdown consequences
The important lesson that we learned from the lockdown is that automation is now need-of-the-hour. Automation is a boon, a blessing in disguise because had we not done the automation it would have been very difficult to run the production process. There was a shortage of labour, and the demand was very high. Just because of automation, we could run the production plant at 50% capacity and another thing is that with almost forty years in this business, we have gained the goodwill and branding our products which we realized during the pandemic where consumers and clients were looking for the good and branded food products. This truly made us realize what we have earned in form of the goodwill of our efforts last four decades.
Growth in Diwali and Sales of Gift Hampers
Diwali sales and gift hampers are the results of all-year performance. Customers keep their eyes and ears open and observe the momentum by visiting our showrooms and outlets, and what new variants have been introduced by us. . They always keep the check that what’s happening around us, they keep check on whether if we are presentable, that our products are presentable. This approach acts as a reminder at Diwali time. The presentation brings them back to our outlets where they found something unique from their last visit. This year also corporate gifting is very good. People are gifting like a normal year. Now I can say that the pandemic effect has been diminished and sales have been picking up.
