In a move towards increased accessibility and user-friendliness, FSSAI has introduced regional language options in its Food Safety Compliance System (FoSCoS) portal. This initiative is designed to cater to a broader audience, particularly local businesses, by making the portal available in Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, and Marathi, in addition to Hindi and English.
The FSSAI is committed to further expanding this language inclusivity, with plans to introduce the portal in Kannada, Punjabi, Malayalam, Assamese, Bengali, and Odia in the near future, as stated in an official announcement. The move is part of an ongoing effort to improve user experience and facilitate seamless interaction between local food businesses and the FoSCoS portal, which was launched nationwide in 2020.
By incorporating regional languages, the FSSAI aims to empower a wider range of stakeholders in the food industry, ensuring that they can easily navigate and engage with the online compliance portal. This step aligns with the FSSAI’s overarching goal of promoting food safety and standards while fostering a more inclusive and accessible regulatory environment for businesses across diverse linguistic regions.
