Godrej Jersey to Invest ₹150 Crore in New Telangana Dairy Plant, Signs MoU at Global Summit

Creamline Dairy Products Ltd., the Godrej Agrovet subsidiary that markets dairy products under the Godrej Jersey brand, has signed an MoU with the Government of Telangana to set up a ₹150-crore state-of-the-art dairy processing facility in the state. The agreement was formalized on the sidelines of the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025.

Spanning 40 acres, the upcoming plant will enhance Godrej Jersey’s production capabilities and support Telangana’s growing demand for value-added dairy products. With this announcement, the Godrej Industries Group’s total committed investments in Telangana now exceed ₹10,000 crore across its various business verticals.

Boost to Protein Nutrition and Dairy Ecosystem

With nearly 73% of Indians consuming less than the recommended daily protein intake, the company said the new facility will help expand access to nutritious dairy products, such as milk, curd, paneer, and value-added beverages. The investment is expected to play a critical role in bolstering Telangana’s dairy ecosystem while catering to evolving consumer preferences for health-forward, protein-rich foods.

Telangana Govt Welcomes Investment

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy welcomed the partnership, calling it a testament to the state’s investor-friendly environment.

“Telangana is committed to creating an ecosystem that drives inclusive growth. Our partnership with the Godrej Group reflects shared goals — from strengthening agri-food processing to expanding industrial capacity. These investments will generate employment and further position Telangana as a leading destination for business in India,” he said.

Godrej Group Deepens Its Telangana Footprint

Pirojsha Godrej, Executive Vice Chairperson, Godrej Industries Group, said the MoU underscores the Group’s long-term commitment to the state.

“This partnership supports our broader goals — from sustainable oil palm cultivation and urban housing expansion to growing our dairy presence and empowering MSMEs with digital-first solutions. Together with the Government of Telangana, we aim to build an inclusive and resilient future,” he said.

Godrej Agrovet had earlier announced a ₹300-crore Integrated Oil Palm Complex in Khammam district, which includes a crude palm oil mill, an R&D centre, and provisions for a future refinery.

Growing Demand for Value-Added Dairy

Godrej Agrovet CEO & MD Sunil Kataria said demand for value-added dairy products in India — including Telangana — continues to grow at a double-digit rate.

“Urban lifestyles, rising health consciousness, and a preference for convenience are reshaping consumption patterns. At the same time, addressing protein deficiency remains crucial,” he said.

Employment and Regional Development

The upcoming dairy processing unit is expected to create over 300 direct jobs within three years, in addition to indirect employment across allied sectors such as logistics, procurement and agriculture services.

Godrej Industries Group President – Corporate Affairs Rakesh Swami added, “We look forward to deepening this collaboration and contributing meaningfully to Telangana’s continued progress.”

The new facility is anticipated to play a significant role in enhancing both the state’s dairy infrastructure and its broader food-processing landscape.
