Gokul Dairy to Enter Ice Cream and Cheese Market, Targets Growth Ahead

Kolhapur District Milk Producers’ Cooperative Federation, widely known as Gokul, is expanding its product line to include ice cream and cheese. The strategic move, finalized at the cooperative’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) chaired by Chairman Navid Mushrif, aims to position Gokul as a strong competitor to leading brands like Amul and other private dairies.

Mushrif confirmed that research and development for the new categories is already in progress. The cooperative plans to launch production before the next summer season, leveraging its strong consumer base and the popularity of existing value-added products such as Basundi in markets like Mumbai.

Financially, Gokul recorded an annual turnover of ₹3,966 crore in FY2024–25, an increase of ₹296 crore over the previous year. During the year, it collected 58 crore litres of milk, with the highest single-day collection reaching 18.59 lakh litres. The cooperative has set a target to raise daily milk collection to 25 lakh litres in the coming year.

With this diversification into ice cream and cheese, Gokul aims to strengthen its value-added product portfolio, expand consumer reach, and drive sustainable growth in India’s competitive dairy market.
