Heritage Foods Ltd has reaffirmed its commitment to stringent quality standards while underscoring its role in supporting dairy farmers across the country, according to the company’s vice chairperson and managing director, Nara Bhuvaneswari. Her remarks come amid political criticism attempting to link the company to a separate supplier involved in a controversy over ghee used in sweets supplied to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, a charge the company has consistently denied.
In a video message shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Bhuvaneswari said Heritage Foods remains focused on delivering fresh and healthy dairy products to households while empowering farmers through transparent systems and fair remuneration. She stated that every product manufactured by the company is subjected to 25 quality checks overseen by more than 500 trained professionals, ensuring compliance not only with statutory requirements but also with the company’s internal safety and hygiene benchmarks.
The company currently operates in nine states and works with close to 300,000 dairy farmers. Bhuvaneswari noted that Heritage Foods’ business model is built on transparency, fair pricing and timely payments to farmers. She added that the company’s growth from a Rs 4 crore enterprise to a Rs 4,000 crore organisation reflects its long-standing emphasis on quality assurance and farmer welfare.
Addressing allegations raised by the opposition YSR Congress, which sought to associate Heritage Foods with substandard ghee supplied through a related vendor, Bhuvaneswari rejected the claims and invited consumers to independently verify the company’s quality processes. Heritage clarified that the supplier named in the controversy is an independent contract manufacturer and does not have any direct corporate association with the company.
The company’s public defence of its testing protocols and farmer-centric approach comes at a time when consumer scrutiny around food safety and product authenticity is increasing. With an extensive distribution network and decades of presence in the dairy sector, Heritage Foods continues to position itself as a reliable brand committed to product quality and rural livelihood development.
