Adani Wilmar, the FMCG arm of the Adani Group, will be rebranded as AWL Agri Business Limited starting April 16. The renaming signals a clear pivot towards agriculture and food-related ventures, aligning the company’s identity with its evolving business focus.
The rebranding comes on the heels of Adani Group’s exit from its $2 billion consumer goods joint venture with Singapore-based Wilmar International, announced in December 2024. With this development, Adani Wilmar is now repositioning itself to deepen its presence in the agri-business sector.
According to Angshu Mallick, Managing Director and CEO of the company, the focus will remain on strengthening the branded foods portfolio — particularly in high-potential categories like basmati rice and wheat flour. Currently, nearly 80% of the company’s revenue is derived from unbranded products, indicating significant growth opportunities in value-added segments.
The name change is not just cosmetic but a strategic reflection of the company’s long-term vision to become a dominant player in India’s agriculture and food processing landscape.
