India’s domestic food market is projected to experience significant growth of over 47%, reaching USD 1,274 billion by 2027, according to a report unveiled at the CII-FoodPro 2024 event. The report, developed by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in collaboration with Danfoss India, emphasizes the role of innovative startups and cutting-edge technology in driving this expansion.
The report, titled “Food Processing Sector in India: Potential for Southern States,” highlights the considerable opportunities in southern states, particularly Tamil Nadu, which is leading in food exports. Danfoss India, a subsidiary of the Denmark-based engineering giant, also introduced sustainable food processing technologies at the event, further supporting the industry’s growth.
The Confederation of Indian Industry, along with CII FACE (Food and Agriculture Centre of Excellence) and Danfoss India, identified the food processing industry’s potential in southern India as a key factor in the sector’s expected growth.
