IRCTC Collaborates with Zomato to Enhance Rail Travellers’ Dining Experience

To enhance the culinary options available to railway passengers, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. (IRCTC) has joined forces with Zomato, a leading food delivery platform. This collaboration is part of IRCTC’s E-Catering segment, designed to expand the range of food choices for travellers.

The partnership has been kicked off with a Proof of Concept (PoC) at five prominent railway stations: New Delhi, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Lucknow, and Varanasi. Under this initiative, passengers can conveniently order and receive preordered meals through the IRCTC E-Catering portal, with the valuable support of Zomato.

The company issued a statement explaining the venture, “This is to inform you that, in view of widening the range of options available to rail passengers for ordering food of their choice under IRCTC’s E-catering segment, IRCTC has tied up with M/s. Zomato Limited for the supply and delivery of preordered meals through IRCTC’s E-catering portal as a Proof of Concept (PoC) in the first phase at five railway stations, i.e., New Delhi, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Lucknow, and Varanasi.”

This strategic alliance is poised to offer rail passengers an extended array of choices and greater convenience when it comes to their dining preferences. Ultimately, the collaboration seeks to enhance the overall travel experience, making it more enjoyable and comfortable for all.
