New Strategic Partnership
Jubilant FoodWorks (JFL), the operator of Domino’s Pizza and Popeye’s in India, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Coca-Cola India. The agreement sets the groundwork for JFL to procure a range of Coca-Cola’s sparkling beverages, including popular products like Coca-Cola, Thums Up, Sprite, and Fanta, through authorised bottlers.
Marketing Collaboration
In addition to procurement, the MoU outlines marketing activities for Coca-Cola’s beverages to be conducted by JFL in the ordinary course of business. The formal agreement will take effect on April 1, 2025, marking the beginning of the official supply chain arrangement.
Synergy with Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages
This partnership aligns with the Jubilant Bhartia Group’s recent investment in Hindustan Coca-Cola Holdings, the parent company of Coca-Cola’s largest bottler in India. Jubilant Beverages acquired a 40% stake in Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, reflecting JFL’s strategic intent to strengthen beverage partnerships and streamline its operations.
Impact on the Competitive Landscape
The collaboration marks a significant shift in the competitive dynamics of the food and beverage sector, enabling JFL to enhance its consumer offerings and strengthen its supply chain efficiency while leveraging Coca-Cola’s brand equity.
