In a strategic move to strengthen its omnichannel presence, Licious, a leading meat and seafood home-delivery service, has acquired Bengaluru-based offline retailer My Chicken and More. The acquisition, a cash-and-equity deal, will help Licious expand its physical retail footprint in South India, increasing the number of its offline stores from three to 26.
Licious cofounders, Vivek Gupta and Abhay Hanjura, stated that the acquisition would allow the company to rapidly scale its offline presence while maintaining the quality and transparency that have defined the brand. My Chicken and More operates 23 stores and processes up to 1.8 million orders annually, with revenues of Rs 110 crore in 2023.
This acquisition aligns with Licious’ long-term plan to open 500 stores across key markets in the coming years, as it continues to build a robust omnichannel network. The move follows a trend of online-first brands expanding into physical retail to tap into new customer segments.
Temasek-backed Licious, which serves 4 million households, is also testing 15-minute deliveries of ready-to-eat items in select locations. The company aims to turn profitable at the EBITDA level by the end of FY25.
