The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) recently hosted a special meeting with ambassadors and senior diplomats from 51 countries at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in New Delhi. The aim was to invite global participation in the upcoming World Food India (WFI) 2025, scheduled from September 25 to 28, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
World Food India is a major event that showcases India’s food processing sector to the world, attracting collaborations, investments, and partnerships from across the globe.
The meeting was chaired by Avinash Joshi, Secretary of MoFPI, and attended by top officials from the Ministry of External Affairs, APEDA, FSSAI, ITPO, and partner organisations like FICCI, Invest India, and EY.
During the event, the MoFPI shared that WFI 2025 will include buyer-seller meets, exhibitions, theme-based sessions, and special pavilions covering areas like alcoholic beverages, HoReCa (Hotels, Restaurants & Catering), post-harvest technology, food processing, and packaging machinery. The event aims to boost both business-to-business (B2B) and government-to-government (G2G) connections.
Representatives from foreign missions praised the importance of the event in today’s global food industry and assured strong participation from their countries, promising to send significant delegations from their food processing sectors.
WFI 2025 will be a joint effort by multiple government departments, including Agriculture, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairy, MSME, and export boards like APEDA and MPEDA – all working together to make the event a grand success.
