Mother Dairy aims to achieve a turnover of Rs. 17,000 crores for the fiscal year 2024–25, reflecting a 13% increase driven by heightened demand for its dairy and edible oil products. The company, which also markets ‘Dhara’ branded edible oils nationwide and operates approximately 400 ‘Safal’ retail outlets in Delhi-NCR for fresh fruits and vegetables, is confident about sustaining its growth momentum.
Managing Director Manish Bandlish stated, “As we mark our 50th anniversary, we crossed milestone revenue of Rs. 15,000 crores in the last fiscal year. We expect to add another Rs. 1,500 to 2,000 crore this fiscal year.”
The beginning of FY25 has shown promising results, with summer-led categories such as curd, ice creams, and dairy beverages collectively growing by over 40% in volume terms. Bandlish emphasized the company’s focus on expanding its national presence, enhancing distribution, increasing capacities, and introducing new products to captivate consumers.
Over the past three fiscal years, Mother Dairy has added more than Rs. 4,500 crores to its topline. This year alone, the company has launched around 30 new products, with plans to continue building a strong portfolio, particularly in fermented dairy, sweets, and cheese.
Mother Dairy is also investing in new facilities, including a mega-dairy processing plant in Nagpur, Maharashtra, with an initial capacity of 6 lakh litres per day, expandable up to 10 lakh litres per day. Additionally, it plans to increase capacity for table butter at its Junagadh facility. In the fruits and vegetables segment, the company is setting up greenfield plants in Karnataka and Gujarat for pulp and frozen products.
Commissioned in 1974 as part of the ‘Operation Flood’ initiative, Mother Dairy is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). The company sells over 45 lakh litres of milk per day nationwide, with more than 35 lakh litres per day in Delhi-NCR alone. Its diversified portfolio includes cultured products, ice creams, paneer, ghee under the ‘Mother Dairy’ brand, and edible oils under the ‘Dhara’ brand, along with fresh fruits, vegetables, and other products under the ‘Safal’ brand.
