Nestlé India has stated that all infant formula products sold in the country are manufactured locally, offering reassurance to parents amid global investigations and recalls linked to contamination concerns in baby milk products.
A company spokesperson said the infant nutrition range marketed in India has undergone comprehensive testing and complies fully with all regulations laid down by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India and other applicable norms. The locally produced portfolio includes leading infant formula brands sold in the domestic market.
The clarification comes as authorities in France have initiated multiple investigations into baby milk products distributed by global dairy and nutrition companies, including Danone and Lactalis, following reports of toxin contamination in certain international markets.
Nestlé India’s statement aims to reinforce consumer confidence by underscoring local manufacturing, regulatory compliance, and product safety at a time when global scrutiny of infant nutrition products has intensified.
