During lockdown, all manufacturing or deferment of operations at various locations of the companies are dependent on the directions and orders of the central and state governments with other authorities.
Nestle India, the largest packed foods maker said in a BSE filing that all its plants and facilities have got permissions to restart operations, and that manufacturing at the plants has begun at ground levels to maintain social distancing norms and other precautionary measures.
In March, the Indian unit of the Swiss packaged foods maker Nestle had announced scaling down or suspension of production across some of its plants with the exception of essential products, with the government announcing a national lockdown to curb the spread of Coronavirus.
Nestle is the maker of Maggi noodles, Nescafe coffee and Kit Kat chocolate. Nestle, though classified has essential necessities producer, had been facing the dual challenge of lockdown enforcements and acute labour shortage because of migration since last month.
