Rebel Foods, India’s leading cloud kitchen operator, is set to invest ₹200 crore over the next three years to expand Wendy’s to 500 touchpoints across the country. Currently, Wendy’s operates 175 locations, comprising 165 cloud kitchens and 10 casual dining outlets. The brand aims to reach 200 touchpoints by the end of this fiscal year.
Ankush Grover, Co-founder and India CEO of Rebel Foods, stated, “Currently, Wendy’s is present in 35 cities, covering nearly 50% of our network. The brand is growing at an annual recurring revenue (ARR) of $30 million, and we are targeting profitability by March 2025.”
Of the planned 500 locations, 350 will be cloud kitchens, while 100 will adopt an omnichannel approach. Out of these, 60 stores will be established in metro and tier-I cities. The brand currently operates in malls and high streets, with a single drive-through location. Wendy’s stores typically span 1,000–1,200 sq. ft., with a capital expenditure (CAPEX) of ₹1 crore per outlet.
Same-store sales growth for Wendy’s stands at 45%, while offline channels contribute 8% to the total business. Rebel Foods’ overall same kitchen sales growth (SKSG) is at 20%, with plans to maintain this growth trajectory.
Rebel Foods, which operates approximately 15 brands, has also expanded internationally, with 13 locations in the UAE. The international segment contributes 10–12% of the company’s overall revenue.
