Swiggy Unveils ‘Eatlists’: A Groundbreaking Feature in Food Delivery

Swiggy has introduced a pioneering new feature, ‘Eatlists,’ which promises to revolutionize the food delivery landscape by transforming how users discover and share food recommendations. This innovation, described as a ‘global first’ by the company, was announced on Friday and is set to elevate the food ordering experience for users across its platform.

Drawing a parallel to creating and sharing music playlists, Swiggy’s Eatlists allows food enthusiasts to curate and share their favourite dishes directly within the Swiggy app. This feature aims to simplify the often fragmented and time-consuming process of finding meal recommendations, which, according to Swiggy’s in-app insights, sees 58% of users struggling with indecision when selecting meals and 68% relying on recommendations from friends and peers across multiple platforms.

Anumeha Chaturvedi from the ET Bureau reports that Eatlists lets users create themed lists of their favourite dishes for easy browsing, share these curated lists with other food lovers, and access lists created by others. This ensures a constant flow of food recommendations, enhancing the overall food discovery experience on Swiggy.

To create an Eatlist, users can tap the bookmark icon against their favourite dishes and save them under personalized lists with names like “Weekend Treats,” “The Answer is Always Biryani,” or “Healthy Bites.” Once curated, these lists can be shared directly through social media apps like WhatsApp and Instagram, and users can also explore Eatlists created by others, such as “Late-night Cravings in Mumbai” or “Top Street Foods in Delhi.”

Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Food Marketplace at Swiggy, remarked, “Before social media and other digital channels, food was the original form of community building. Sharing meals brought people together. Eatlists brings the best of both worlds: the ability to create and share your food identity with the world while discovering new favourite dishes through thousands of Eatlists curated by fellow food lovers and experts, both in your city and beyond.”

The new feature is prominently accessible on the Swiggy user’s food homepage as well as their profile page, making it easy for users to engage with and enjoy this innovative addition to the app.
