Unilever to Establish Rs. 900 Crore Global Capability Centre under its Magnum Brand in Pune

Pune is set to bolster its position as a global business hub with Unilever’s announcement of a Rs. 900 crore investment to create a state-of-the-art Global Capability Centre (GCC) under its Magnum brand. The agreement, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra at the IGF Mumbai: NXT25 event, significantly boosts the region’s economy.

The MoU was signed by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Unilever’s Global CFO Abhijit Bhattacharya, and India CEO Toloy Tanridagli. Fadnavis highlighted the development, stating, “Maharashtra is fast becoming a top choice for global businesses. We thank Unilever for choosing Pune as the home for its largest GCC.”

Expected to generate over 1,000 high-skill jobs, the Magnum GCC will serve as a critical hub for Unilever’s global operations, delivering advanced business, technology, and financial services to markets worldwide. This move underscores Pune’s growing reputation as a center for innovation and talent.

The initiative aligns with Maharashtra’s vision to attract high-value investments, further solidifying its role as a powerhouse for global capability centers.
