Walmart has announced a new partnership with Burger King to provide exclusive meal discounts to its Walmart Plus members. As part of this collaboration, starting in September, members will be able to enjoy 25% off on digital orders at Burger King and receive a free Whopper burger every three months with any purchase. This initiative aims to bolster Walmart’s competitiveness against Amazon Prime by offering more value to price-conscious consumers.
Walmart Plus, the retailer’s subscription service, is available at $12.95 per month or $98 annually, offering perks like free shipping with no minimum order and access to Paramount+ streaming services. This new deal with Burger King adds another layer of benefits, making the membership even more attractive.
The partnership reflects a broader trend among retailers and fast-food chains to launch value deals in an effort to boost demand amid a challenging economic environment. Walmart Plus members can access these discounts at Burger King locations nationwide through the restaurant chain’s app or website.
Meanwhile, Amazon has also been enhancing its Prime membership benefits, including offering U.S. customers the ability to order from online delivery firm Grubhub directly through its shopping app, providing no-fee access to Grubhub+ membership.
This strategic move by Walmart underscores the intensifying competition in the retail and food service sectors as companies vie to capture the loyalty of budget-conscious consumers.
