Zomato Secures Regulatory Approval for Rebranding Itself as Eternal Ltd

Food delivery giant Zomato has received approval from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) to change its name to Eternal Limited, effective March 20, 2025. The company confirmed this change in a regulatory filing, noting that its Memorandum and Articles of Association have been amended accordingly.

This marks Zomato’s second rebranding since its inception. The company was initially founded as Foodiebay in 2008 before adopting the Zomato name in 2010. The latest change reflects its evolution from a food delivery platform to a diversified business encompassing Blinkit (quick commerce), Hyperpure (B2B food supply), and District (dining and events).

The Gurugram-based company had earlier sought shareholder approval for the name change, which has now been formally sanctioned. As part of this transition, Zomato will migrate its corporate website from zomato.com to eternal.com and update its stock ticker from ZOMATO to ETERNAL.

CEO Deepinder Goyal previously outlined the company’s strategic focus for its four key business segments under the Eternal umbrella, emphasizing their growth and expansion plans.
