I would like to thank Firoz bhai & his team for all the initiatives taken to support our industries & highlight the issues faced by us due to the corona pandemic through the webinars and forrepresenting our Industry to the Honourable Minister Shri Nitinbhai Gadkari and making him awareof the issues faced by the industry.
To introduce myself I am Rashmikant Patel the proprietor of Rashmi Enterprise involved with Icecream Industries since 1985 as supplier for Chocolate products & thereafter in the manufacturing of moulded cones which have a very demand in Gujarat. We are the pioneers in MINI Cones (50ml).
We have catered to big companies like Havmor, Amul, Vadilal, Sheetal & many medium and small Ice cream companies. With the increase in demand for Rolled sugar cones with sleeves we have addedthe same to our product line.at present we are suppliers for the same to Manufacturers throughout Gujarat Maharashtra, Rajasthan.
We have introduced Water based Ink printing with Imported Machinery in Gujarat. In 2015 we have started Chocolate manufacturing with imported world best Company’s BUHLER’S Machinery manufacturing good Quality Choco paste and Chocolate Chips. This year owing to the pandemic covid-19 at the start of the season we have the most difficult times. Business is at rock bottom and expanses are sky high. To recover the losses incurred in the currentyear we’ll require two full seasons at pre covid business.
As the Ice cream Industries also suffered big losses due to the Lockdown owing to which we experienced a zero revenue season with continued overheads the government should consider some form of temporary relief to get the industry back online as a lot of local small & big entrepreneurs in the Market In Gujarat will likely face closure. A large number of them are in the Ice cream Cones Candies, cups market priced from Rs. 5 & Rs.10/- and after paying 18% GST their take home will be negligible or negative.
As this industry supports the Dairy and Sugar Industries by way of inputs materials which in turn benefits the farmers which in turn makes for a healthy economic uplift we hope the government will accept our request for a temporary reduction in the rate of GST as it will support our revival.
Also the fact that the government issued SOP’s have added to our overheadswhich cannot to be passed on to the consumers this reduction will be a huge relief.
