To mark World Food Safety Day on June 7, NXG Food Safety Works launched a series of science-driven initiatives to promote awareness around safe food practices and the importance of managing risks through evidence-based approaches. The activities began in the first week of June and culminated with a 90-minute live session titled ‘Safe to Serve – The Scientific Approach’ on June 6. Moderated by Sarika Agarwal, Managing Director and Principal Consultant at NXG Food Safety Works, the session featured Dr. H. N. Mishra, Professor at IIT Kharagpur, and Prakash Ramarao, Senior Leader – Quality & Compliance.
The speakers highlighted the evolution of food safety systems, the role of data and technology, and the need to cultivate a scientific mindset in daily food operations. The discussion offered valuable insights into how informed choices and process-based thinking can strengthen food safety at every level.
In addition to the knowledge session, NXG Food Safety Works conducted engaging activities across corporate sites to make food safety concepts more relatable. The ‘Word Hunt Challenge’ invited participants to find key food safety terms like hygiene, expiry date, and allergens in a custom puzzle, while the ‘Guess Who I Am?’ label clues game encouraged employees to identify food products through ingredient hints and health claims. These interactive formats, which reached over 250 participants, were met with enthusiastic feedback for making food safety both fun and understandable.
To reach a wider audience, NXG also released a digital presentation titled ‘Food Safety: Science in Action’. Shared on social media, the resource explained the science behind food safety in simple terms, focusing on the impact of unsafe food, the importance of each step in the food chain, and the power of global scientific collaboration.
The month-long campaign concluded with the India Food Safety Conclave 2025 on June 20, hosted by NXG Food Safety Works. This third edition of the event brought together industry leaders, academics, and regulators for in-depth discussions on emerging best practices, recent research, and changes in the regulatory landscape. Through these efforts, NXG Food Safety Works reinforced its commitment to making food safety more accessible, actionable, and science-driven for all stakeholders.
