Bengaluru-based food tech giant Swiggy has launched DeskEats, a workplace-specific food ordering experience aimed at India’s busy officegoers. Rolled out across 7,000+ office locations in 30 cities—including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Pune—DeskEats brings curated meal options straight to the desks of working professionals.
Accessible through keywords like “Office” or “Work” on the Swiggy app, DeskEats offers over 7 lakh food items from 200,000+ restaurants. The feature is tailored for desk-friendly, hassle-free eating with cleverly themed categories like Deadline Desserts, Stress Munchies, Healthy Nibbles, One-Handed Grabbies, and Teamwork Bites.
The initiative builds on the success of Swiggy’s Corporate Rewards Program, which now covers over 14,000 companies and 1.5 lakh employees. Through it, employees receive workplace perks such as Rs 225 off on Swiggy orders, Rs 2,000 off on Dineout, and Rs 100 off on Instamart.
“Today’s professionals are time-strapped and choice-rich,” said Deepak Maloo, Vice President – Food Strategy, Customer Experience & New Initiatives at Swiggy. “DeskEats reimagines food delivery for high-performance workdays—quick bites between meetings, team celebrations after deadlines, or healthy nibbles on the go.”
Initial data reveals interesting food trends: Chicken Popcorn is Bengaluru’s top stress munchie, while Mumbai loves fries, and Gurugram prefers garlic breadsticks. Salads dominated the ‘Healthy Nibbles’ category across all cities, and one-handed snacks contributed nearly 30% of all DeskEats orders.
With DeskEats, Swiggy aims to solve a key pain point: finding meals that are easy to consume at a desk—without plates, cutlery, or the luxury of time. By offering convenient, mess-free, and mood-specific options, Swiggy is not just delivering food—it’s delivering productivity.
