Chennai-first rollout signals strategic push into high-growth indulgence segment, with nationwide expansion on the cards
CavinKare has entered India’s fast-growing ice cream market with the launch of a premium, infusion-led range under its dairy brand Cavin’s, marking a significant diversification into the indulgence-driven frozen dessert segment.
The company has introduced an extensive portfolio comprising 72 variants across 24 flavours, organised into seven distinct infusion categories. The range is designed to recreate a parlour-like experience at home, aligning with changing consumer preferences that increasingly favour premiumisation and frequent indulgence.
The initial rollout has been launched in Chennai, strategically timed ahead of the peak summer season. Products are currently available via food delivery platforms, with pricing starting at ₹89 for pack sizes of 100 ml, 500 ml, and 750 ml.
Commenting on the launch, C.K. Ranganathan, Chairman and Managing Director, CavinKare, highlighted that ice cream consumption in India is evolving beyond a seasonal treat into a year-round indulgence category. He noted that the infusion-led innovation aims to bridge the gap between out-of-home parlour experiences and in-home consumption, while unlocking new growth opportunities.
Following the Chennai debut, CavinKare plans a phased national expansion, leveraging quick commerce, modern retail, and e-commerce channels to scale distribution across key urban markets.
The move positions CavinKare to tap into India’s multi-billion-dollar ice cream industry, where premium offerings and experiential formats are increasingly driving consumer demand.
