Farmers’ forum charges food processing facility of trickery

Representatives from the Federation of Farmers’ Associations demonstrated outside the SP’s office in Chittoor a few days ago and filed a complaint with the SP against the Spandana programme.

According to the forum’s organisers, on June 3, 2021, an agreement was reached between the Consortium of Indian Farmers’ Association (CIFA) and the food processing company about direct supply of mangoes to a major beverage sector. Mango producers in the Chittoor area, primarily from mandals in the Chittoor division, had given the business with 941 cargoes, according to the agreement.

According to CIFA chief adviser P. Chengal Reddy, despite repeated appeals to the food business, management has not responded.
