Farmers in AP stand to benefit greatly from the establishment of a food processing centre

According to the finance minister, the Andhra Pradesh government has received Rs 43,000 crore in investment since June 2019.

The enormous Core Processing Centre (CPC) in Mallavalli Food Park in Krishna district has been completed.

The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) has completed the 86-crore food processing factory. The CPC covers roughly 7.48 acres.

The CPC includes capabilities for extracting pulp from fruits and packaging them so that growers may export them directly. The CPC was part of a food park that spanned about 58 acres.

“We created the food park for Rs. 112.94 crore, of which 86 crores were paid entirely for the CPC,” APIIC chairman Mettu Govinda Reddy said. He stated that the food park had several food processing businesses, including a couple for spice powders and fruit juices.

Surprisingly, quality testing facilities have been established in the food processing park. The Mallavalli food park has already garnered 260 crores in investments and is anticipated to employ about 6000 people.

APIIC managing director Javvadi Subramanyam stated at the roadshow that they will be organising a roadshow to campaign on the services offered in the food park, namely in the CPC. Farmers might provide raw resources and return value-added commodities to the CPC. “The factory has all the facilities to help farmers gain great rewards from their produce,” Subramanyam explained. He believes that producers of mango, guava, tomato, papaya, banana, and other food crops would benefit from processing the stock since it will provide them with excellent returns.

The CPC has a device that removes around 10 tonnes of pulp from the fruit each hour. A ripening chamber can hold around 120 tonnes of stock, whereas a cold storage facility may hold approximately 3000 tons. Six tonnes of tomato pulp, ten tons of mango pulp, five tons of papaya pulp, six tons of guava pulp, and four tons of banana pulp may be extracted each hour by the plant.
