Google Arts & Culture Teams Up with India’s Ministry of Agriculture to Unveil Digital Showcase on Millets

In a collaborative effort between Google Arts & Culture and India’s Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, a groundbreaking digital exhibition titled “Millets: Seeds of Change” has been launched, as announced in a media release. The exhibit, inaugurated at Krishi Bhavan by Manoj Ahuja, Secretary of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, aims to shed light on the rich history and nutritional significance of millets, transitioning from ancient grains to contemporary superfoods.

Highlighting the diverse benefits of millets, including their nutritional richness, role in bolstering global climate resilience, and potential to mitigate global food security challenges, the exhibition serves as a platform to showcase India’s agricultural prowess to the world. Amit Sood, Director of Google Arts & Culture, expressed pride in collaborating with the Indian government to spotlight this ancient yet transformative crop, emphasizing its relevance in addressing contemporary nutritional and sustainability concerns.

Featuring interactive elements such as quizzes and culinary insights from renowned chefs like Chef Thomas Zacharias, the exhibit offers visitors an engaging and informative experience. Additionally, it explores various millet varieties, cultivation techniques, and culinary applications, further underscoring the versatility and significance of this often-overlooked grain.

Google Arts & Culture’s commitment to preserving and celebrating cultural heritage extends to its collaboration with over 100 institutions in India.
