Indian trade organisation to put out “The Ultimate Compendium of Nutraceuticals”

Indian trade association the Expert Nutraceutical Advocacy Council (ENAC) has revealed ‘The Ultimate Compendium of Nutraceuticals’ to match with its first International Nutraceutical Day. The initiatives have been overseen by ENAC and NUTRAWORKS founder Sandeep Gupta, who is also the chairman of the Standard Review Group for Nutraceuticals at Indian regulator FSSAI.

He has co-authored the compendium with Dr. Anish Desai, from ENAC’s Expert Scientific Advisory Board. Dr. Desai is also the director of Intellimed HealthCare Solutions and an honorary professor of pharmaceutical medicine at KEM Hospital in Mumbai.

Gupta said that when interacting with apex regulators, the major gap and lack of reference from industry is often in representing the scientific information and evidence in a suitable format. “Therefore, we have presented the facts through this compendium, which might be very useful as reference point for some key nutraceuticals.

The entire focus in this compendium is on the clinical studies and evidence for some of the very important nutraceuticals, which can work alongside mainline therapy to improve the condition of people in disease states. The compendium will be available both offline and online, including from the ENAC website and Amazon. In relation to the organization’s first International Nutraceutical Day, on September 2, Gupta added: “

Science-based nutraceuticals will remain the strongest growth driver of the sector and we wanted to raise awareness of their potential, hopefully this will spread awareness among the healthcare professionals regarding the preventive and therapeutic benefits of nutraceuticals.
