ITC inaugurates a spice processing plant in Andhra Pradesh

ITC Limited unveiled its internationally benchmarked global spice processing plant in the Spices Park in Andhra Pradesh. The plant was inaugurated by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The facility will have processing lines for turmeric, chilli, and blended spices with an annual capacity of 20,400 metric tonnes of spices and will have the capability to produce over 15 organic spices. It is expected to boost ITC’s food exports globally.

Target global markets are Europe, the US, Canada, Australia, and China, among other countries.

The facility will be powered by high-tech, energy-efficient equipment and have rooftop solar panels to ensure clean energy consumption. A majority of the workforce at the unit will be women.According to Sanjiv Puri, the chairman of ITC Ltd., they have invested in setting up a world-class export-oriented spice facility in Andhra Pradesh that will offer the finest quality of spices to the world while conforming to global food safety export norms and anchoring local agri-value chains.
