Kerry Introduces Dairy Drink for Older Consumers in China

The target market for the product is older people looking for nutritious beverages to preserve and enhance their health.

For the Chinese market, Kerry Dairy Ireland has introduced a novel dairy beverage that would promote healthy ageing in senior users.

Origimel satisfies local demand for high-quality, sustainable, and grass-fed dairy products by containing a combination of milk powder that promotes immunological, muscular, bone, and cognitive health.

Wellmune, DHA, calcium, vitamins, and minerals are all present in the product, and Kerry’s Bord Bia-certified milk suppliers provide the milk protein.

According to the World Health Organisation, China has one of the world’s fastest ageing populations, with 28% of the population predicted to be 60 or older by 2040.

Expanding Potential

According to Kerry Dairy Ireland, the market for dairy products fortified with functional ingredients to assist good ageing is expanding as a result of a growing middle class.

Irish dairy products are seen as premium among more affluent consumers, according to Kerry Dairy Ireland, which has more than 20 years of expertise in the Chinese market.

United Field, which specialises in the selling of health and wellness items, will promote and distribute the new product. Bord Bia’s Grass Fed logo will also be on it when it is sold.

We are excited to present this new product to the Chinese market, said Pat Murphy, CEO of Kerry Group’s dairy division, in a statement on the debut of the new product. Chinese consumers’ requirements are evolving, with a growing emphasis on healthy ageing among the senior population. Through nourishing grass-fed dairy protein and scientifically validated additives like Wellmune, Origimel promotes the health of its customers.

The item is on display at the international SIAL trade fair in Shanghai from May 18 to 20.
